IEC Power Cables

Power from the AC main supply, contains not only AC mains voltage, but also all other unwanted voltages induced into the system by radiation and conduction. These voltages are often very small and are operating at a variety of frequencies. They are absolutely unwanted in any audio system.

Audio Unique has spent years researching this problem. Using a number of trial and error experiments with a variety of prototypes, have somewhat solved and minimized the issues. Quality shielding is the answer.

We employ both electrostatic and electromagnetic shielding to properly bypass the unwanted induced voltage to ground. This results in very quiet backgrounds when playing music with a notable absence from noise and interference.

• All our cables are hand built, hand wound. No off-the-shelf roles of cable are used.
• Use multi-layer shields that provide wide spectrum relief from ESI, EMI, EMF.
• Hand terminated connections; some are terminated with silver solder
• Multiple quality checks to ensure long term safety
• Tested and tagged for QA
• Cables have been burned-in at the factory a minimum of 200 Hours, for great sound immediately, but will continue to improve over the next week or two of playing time.
• Rated at 250V AC 10 Amps.

The Carme cable is suitable for all small signal components including digital sources, phono stages, pre-amplifiers etc. It is not recommended for large current power amplifiers, where we suggest the Carme cable for higher current applications.
